I adore my mother. I feel fortunate to still have her in my life.
She is a perfect combination of a gentle soul and a tough woman.
I remember as a child visiting her at the rehab hospital she worked (in Israel) as a nurse.
She took care of wounded soldiers and amputees. I was in middle school then and was horrified to see so many young men in that condition.
She absolutely loved what she did - she had this gift of connecting with all her patients. She helped them cope and usually will always make them laugh...
I vividly remember thinking "my mom is a saint, I could never do what she does..."
She is flawed, like all of us but no matter what, I always felt safe and loved by her.
It took me 12 years of intense IVF treatments to have my three girls ( 22 and 15 year old twins).
I feel blessed to have had them. I take nothing for granted and try to be a good mom everyday - and somedays I am far from being that.
I think that all kids really want and need - is to feel loved. Anything that is done with love is done right.
