Hello Everyone,

Traveling has been an important part of my life for as far back as I can remember. It has taught me things that could never be learned in a classroom and opened my mind in ways that I never thought possible. The landscapes I’ve explored, the people that I have met, and their cultures/lifestyles, have shaped me into the person I am today. (In fact, even my inspiration for Rue Boutique was inspired by a trip to Paris.)

It has allowed me to look within and change my mindset for the better. In my 30s, I remember thinking that I had all the friends I needed in life. I now know that this could not be further from the truth. There's no timeline to making new friends. Thanks to my work and travels, I have made new friends from all over the world and continue to make friends that have enriched my life.

I am fortunate that my work as a boutique owner and buyer gives me the opportunity to travel quite frequently. I love the thrill of experiencing a place for the first time - talking to the locals and finding out where they like to shop small, grabbing a bite, listening to live music, or going for a hike. And (if you know me it will come as no surprise) that I also make it a point to explore local yoga studios wherever I go.

When I frequent the buying shows, it gives me a boost of energy and gets my creative juices going. It is not only the new product I see, but also the people, vibe, local businesses, restaurants, and natural beauty that every place has to offer. When you travel, try to stop and take it all in and really embrace yourself in the life that is happening right there at that moment.

Get out there and explore - the world is your oyster and it awaits you!
