"For to be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others." - Nelson Mandela

Hello Everyone,

The 4th of July is a celebration of independence.

The pursuit of happiness cannot exist without having the freedom to do so. My experience as an entrepreneur is possible thanks to our freedom.

Rue Boutique is the embodiment of the American Dream. I myself am an immigrant. I came to Pittsburgh from Israel almost 30 years ago and was part of a small and very successful family business for almost 22 years. Although Israel is a democracy it is very difficult to start a business from scratch there.

When I decided to open Rue Boutique 2016, it was important for me to curate a selection of mostly American designers, ideally with everything made in the United States. In addition to high quality men's and women's clothing, accessories, and artisan jewelry, we have a mix of old and new furniture and home accents.

Our clothing lines consist of mostly American brands from all over the country. They are all designed here and most are made here in the United States. James Perse, Stark and Sol Angeles are just a few examples. Soyil Candles by Greta are made here in Pittsburgh and Marisa Mason jewelry is designed and made in their retail shop in San Francisco.

When celebrating with friends and family for the 4th of July this week - let's be mindful of what it really means to live in a place where we are free to pursue our lives and our dreams. It is up to each and everyone of us to create and grow as we wish.

I am grateful to live in a place and time where anything is possible. There are no limits, not even the sky...

Happy Independence Day!

Everything that is really great and inspiring is created by the individual who can labor in freedom." - Albert Einstein
